The Fourth Pathway · Open to All

Every crew needs people who ride.
And people who make riding matter.

You don't have to ride to belong here. If you shoot it, write it, teach it, organise it, parent it, or just believe in what it does to people, you're already in. We built HORNGRY for the uninvited. That's always meant you too.

The Manifesto

The culture doesn't only belong to those who ride.

Action sports culture has always drawn a line. Riders on one side. Everyone else watching from the outside.

We don't. The photographer who's shot skate culture for thirty years built this culture as much as the riders in their frames. The youth worker running BMX sessions for kids the system gave up on is living our mission more fully than most. The parent who drives two hours every Saturday so their kid can surf has done more for this community than half the people who ride.

This culture belongs to everyone who believes in what it does to people. Not just everyone who can do it.

The photographer

Who has spent 20 years in car parks at 5am making the culture visible to the world. The riders are the story. The photographer makes sure it gets told.

The youth worker

Who uses BMX on a Tuesday afternoon to reach teenagers that school, social services, and every other institution has given up on. They're living the mission every session.

The parent

Who watched sport rebuild their child after the worst year of their life, and now drives every weekend, knows every rider by name, and would do anything to keep that community alive.

The designer

Who has shaped the visual language of a culture, the graphics, the zines, the identities, without ever dropping in on a halfpipe. They built what the culture looks like.

"Every crew needs people who support. And people who make riding matter. You are the second group. Without you, there is no culture, only sport."

Culture Contributors have full membership. Full benefits. Full belonging. The door has always been open. We're just making it official.

Your Pathway

Two ways in. Both matter equally.

Choose the pathway that reflects what you bring. Both are equal. Both are essential. Both give you full membership of the HORNGRY Global community.

🎨

1. The Creator.

You make the culture visible. Your photographs, your films, your words, your designs, your music, these are how the world sees action sports. The culture couldn't exist without you documenting it, amplifying it, and giving it a voice. Your lens is as essential as any board.

📷Photography & Film

Document the culture. Make the rides, the wipeouts, the friendships, and the moments last beyond the session.

✍️Writing & Journalism

Tell the stories the industry won't. Profile the riders nobody knows yet. Write the culture honestly.

🎨Design & Art

Shape the visual identity of a global movement. The graphics, the zines, the illustrations that define what this looks like.

🎵Music & Sound

The soundtrack matters as much as the footage. The music that plays under the best clips is as creative as the riding.

📱Digital & Content

Build the platforms, the channels, the amplification that takes local culture global. You are the distribution.

🎙Podcast & Audio

The conversations that deepen the culture. Interviews, documentaries, stories told in a different register.

🤝

2. The Connector.

You bring people in. Your coaching sessions, your youth programmes, your community events, your mentorship, these are how the culture grows. Every rider who found sport through someone who believed in them is part of your impact. You are the infrastructure the culture runs on.

🏄Coaching & Mentoring

Teach what you know to someone who needs it. One session with the right person changes a trajectory.

👶Youth Work

Sport as a tool for young people the system missed. BMX, skate, surf, as intervention, as belonging, as hope.

👥Community Organisation

Run the sessions, organise the meetups, manage the local crew. The culture needs builders as much as riders.

👨‍👩‍👧Parental Support

Drive the car. Pay for the gear. Show up at every session. That is leadership. That is contribution. That belongs here.

🧠Mental Health & Wellbeing

The bridge between sport and science. Therapists, counsellors, and practitioners who use sport as a therapeutic tool.

Disability & Inclusion

The culture includes everyone. Adaptive sport advocates, accessibility campaigners, inclusion practitioners. Essential work.

Full Membership. No Exceptions.

Everything riders get. You get it too.

Culture Contributors aren't associate members or supporters. You're full members with every benefit and every right to belong that any rider has. Free. Forever.

📰

The HORNGRY Zine

Free access to every issue of the HORNGRY zine. And for Creators: the opportunity to have your work featured in it.

🎯

The Community Code

Belonging. Respect. Progression. Inclusivity. Grit. The same code every rider lives by. You're held to it and protected by it, equally and without exception.

🤝

One community. No tiers. No hierarchy.

The person who photographs the session is as much a part of the culture as the person riding in it. HORNGRY doesn't rank people by whether they ride. It recognises people by what they bring. A Culture Contributor's membership is identical in every respect to a rider's, because the mission doesn't work without both.

From the Community

Culture Contributors in their own words.

The Belief

You don't need to ride to be part of the ride.

We built HORNGRY because sport changes lives and nobody should be locked out by where they're from or what they earn. That belief doesn't need a board under it. It needs people who agree, and the willingness to do something about it. If that's you, the door is open. It always has been.
