Safeguarding

Keeping members under 18 safe.

HORNGRY accounts start at 16, so some of our members are under 18. This is how we protect them online and at events.

Who's responsible

Our safeguarding lead is [SAFEGUARDING_LEAD]. Contact safeguarding@horngry.net. Every concern goes to them.

Online

Members aged 16 and 17 get protected accounts: private profiles by default, no direct messages with adults, first names or handles only on leaderboards, and no location sharing. These settings can't be switched off.

Brands

No brand contacts a member under 18. Brand offers, sponsorship, gear and cash are for members aged 18 and over, and every brand contact goes through HORNGRY.

At events

Riders under 18 need a parent or guardian to sign the event waiver. Anyone running sessions with under-18s holds a current background check (DBS in the UK, Working With Children Check in Australia). Under-18s are never left alone with one adult.

When something's reported

Our safeguarding lead reviews every report within 24 hours. If a child may be at risk, we act first: remove content, suspend accounts, and contact police or child protection services where needed. We keep a record of every report and what we did.

If someone is in danger right now
