This Privacy Policy explains how HORNGRY Ltd ("HORNGRY", "we", "us", "our"), a company registered in England and Wales with its registered office at 128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX, collects and uses your personal data when you visit our website, use our app, or join our community.

We only collect what we need. That includes:

• Account & community signups: first name, last name, email, date of birth, country, city, and chosen sports or sectors.
• Submissions: clips, cover images, events, crew nominations, spot suggestions, and anything else you send in via our forms.
• Council, creator and contributor applications: your name, contact details, location, discipline, experience, links, and the reasons you give.
• Job applications: name, contact details, location, skills, experience, links, your message, and your CV if you upload one.
• Video interview submissions: your video, name, contact details, location, and the consent choices you make on the form.
• Feedback (Tell Us Straight): what you write, plus your first name, city and email if you choose to give them.
• Foundation and waitlist registrations: your email and your consent record.
• Technical data: IP address, device type, browser, and pages visited (via privacy-respecting analytics).
• Communications: any messages you send to us by email or social.

We use your data to:

• Connect you to your local crew and run the community.
• Send you event news, drop notifications, and the HORNGRY zine if you opted in.
• Review submissions, applications, nominations, and job applications, and reply to you about them.
• Publish content you submitted for publication, such as clips and crew reels. Where we publish feedback on our Tell Us Straight page, we show your first name and city only, and never your email or message in full unless you sent it for that purpose.
• Improve our website, app, and content.
• Keep the platform safe and prevent abuse.
• Comply with our legal obligations.

We rely on consent for marketing emails (you can withdraw any time), legitimate interests for running the community, security, and analytics, contract for delivering services you sign up for, and legal obligation where the law requires it.

We use a small number of essential cookies to make the site work and privacy-respecting analytics to understand how the site is used. You can control cookies in your browser settings. We do not sell your data and we do not run third-party advertising trackers.

We never sell your data. We share it only with:

• Trusted service providers who host our infrastructure, send our emails, or process signups, under strict data-processing terms.
• Authorities, where required by law.

Some providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we use safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or equivalent.

Where personal data is transferred outside the United Kingdom, we make sure an adequate level of protection is in place. We rely on the UK adequacy regulations, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA), the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or another approved safeguard. You can request a copy of the safeguards in place by emailing us.

We keep your data only for as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as long as the law requires. In practice:

• Community signups and waitlists: while you are subscribed, and up to 24 months after your last interaction, then deleted or anonymised.
• Contact messages and feedback: up to 24 months after we have dealt with them.
• Applications (council, creator, contributor, crew nominations): up to 12 months after the decision.
• Job applications and CVs: up to 12 months after the role is filled or closed, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
• Video interview submissions: up to 24 months, or until you withdraw consent.
• Published content (clips, reels, published feedback): while the related feature is live, or until you ask us to take it down.

You can ask us to delete your data at any time using our data request page.

We use industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data, including encryption in transit (TLS), access controls, hosted infrastructure with reputable providers, and regular review of our security practices. No system is ever 100% secure, but we work hard to keep yours safe.

In the unlikely event of a personal data breach that is likely to result in a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify the UK Information Commissioner's Office within 72 hours and, where required, inform affected users without undue delay.

We will only send you marketing communications (newsletter, drop alerts, event invites) where you have opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email or by emailing privacy@horngry.net.

Withdrawing marketing consent does not affect any service-related messages we need to send you (for example, in response to a submission or request).

We do not make any decisions about you that are based solely on automated processing, including profiling, that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Ask us to correct or delete it.
• Object to or restrict how we use it.
• Withdraw consent at any time.
• Port your data to another service in a structured, machine-readable format.
• Complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

The fastest way to exercise your access or deletion rights is our data request form. You can also email privacy@horngry.net. We will respond within one month, as required by law.

You must be 13 or over to sign up to the HORNGRY community. Our signup forms ask for a date of birth and will not accept anyone under 13. If you are under 16, please ask a parent or guardian before you sign up or send us anything.

If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "last updated" date below shows the latest version. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate.
